Zaditen Oftabak 0.25 mg/ml Ketotifen Eye Drops Bottle 5 ml

Eye drops antiallergic solution based on ketotifen.

Therapeutic indications

Zaditen Oftabak is used to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. Talk to your doctor if you feel no better or feel worse.

Dosage and posology

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. If in doubt, consult your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

Adults, the elderly and children from 3 years: the recommended dose is one drop in the affected eye (s) twice a day (morning and evening).

How to use

Do not inject, do not swallow. This medicine is intended to be administered into the eye (ophthalmic use). Before first use, discard the first 5 drops Then, each time you use the product:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before using the product.
• To avoid contamination, do not touch your eye, eyelids or any other surface with the tip of the dropper.
• Instill a drop in each eye, looking upwards and lowering the lower lid slightly.
• Close the bottle after use.

Overdose

There is no danger if you accidentally take a few drops of Zaditen Oftabak by mouth. Likewise, don't worry if more than one drop is accidentally instilled into the eye.

Contraindications

Do not use Zaditen Oftabak if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ketotifen (the active substance), or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects have been reported:

• Common (affects less than 1 in 10 patients) Eye irritation or pain, eye inflammation.
• Uncommon (affects less than 1 in 100 patients) blurred vision, dry eye, eyelid disorder, conjunctivitis (inflammation of the surface of the eye), increased sensitivity of the eye to light, visible bleeding into the white of the eye, headache , sleepiness, rash (which can also itch), eczema (itching, redness, burning of the rash), dry mouth, allergic reactions (including swelling of the face and eyelids) and increased severity of the condition existing allergies, such as asthma and eczema.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine. Zaditen Oftabak can be used during breastfeeding.

Special warnings

If you need to apply any other eye drops together with Zaditen Oftabak wait at least 5 minutes between doses. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. This is particularly important in the case of medicinal products used to treat:

• depression
• allergy (e.g. antihistamines).

Expiration and retention

Check the expiration date indicated on the package. The expiry date indicated on the package refers to the product in intact packaging, correctly stored. Zaditen Oftabak can be used up to 3 months after first opening.

Warning : do not use the medicine after the expiry date indicated on the package.

Composition

1 ml of Zaditen Oftabak contains:

Ketotifen hydrogen acid fumarate 0.345 mg as Ketotifen 0.2 5 mg.

Excipients

Glycerol, sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), water for injections.
