PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC CATEGORY

ACTIVE PRINCIPLES
Each chewable tablet contains: Pirantel 50.0 (corresponding to Pirantel embonate 144.0 mg), praziquante 50.0 mg, febantel 150 mg.

EXCIPIENTS
Cetyl palmitate Pregelatinised starch, Sodium glycolate starch (type A), Colloidal anhydrous silica, Magnesium stearate, Artificial beef flavor.

INDICATIONS
Broad spectrum anthelmintic for the treatment of mixed infestations caused by the following roundworms and tapeworms in dogs and puppies. Ascarids: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina (adults and larval forms). Hookworms: Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum (adults). Tricuridae: Trichuris vulpis (adults). Tapeworms: Echinococcus spp., Taenia spp. And Dipylidium caninum (adults and larval forms).

CONTRAINDICATIONS / SECONDARY EFFECT
Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or excipients.

USE / ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral.

DOSAGE
Orally only. Dosage For treatment in dogs, 1 tablet orally per 10 kg of weight (15 mg of febantel, 5 mg of pyrantel (embonate) and 5 mg of praziquantel / kg body weight). For dogs weighing more than 30 kg (i.e.> 30 kg) the use of VeloxaForte is recommended. Administration The tablet should be administered to the dog directly into the mouth or crushed into food. Fasting is not necessary before or after treatment. Thanks to a lipid coating of praziquantel and added flavors, the tablets are taken spontaneously by most dogs. Duration of treatment: the use of a single dose is recommended.

STORAGE
This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions. To store an unused half tablet, place it in the appropriate space in the blister pack and inside the carton, placing it in a safe place out of the reach of children.

WARNINGS
Resistance of parasites to a particular class of anthelmintics may develop following repeated use of anthelmintics of that class. Fleas serve as intermediate hosts for a common type of dithenia - Dipylidium caninum. In the absence of control of intermediate hosts such as fleas, mice, etc., tapeworm infestation is very likely to recur. Tapeworm infestation is unlikely in puppies younger than six weeks. Special precautions for those administering the product to animals: for the purpose of proper hygiene, the person who administers the tablet directly to the dog or adds it to his food, must wash his hands after this operation. In case of accidental ingestion, seek immediate medical attention. Overdose: The combination of praziquantel, pyrantel embonate and febantel is well tolerated in dogs. In safety studies, a dosage of 5 or more times the recommended dosage occasionally resulted in vomiting.

INTERACTIONS
Do not use simultaneously with piperazines due to possible antagonism between the anthelmintic effects of pyrantel and piperazines. The simultaneous administration of other cholinergic compounds can cause a toxic effect. Plasma concentrations of praziquantel may decrease following concomitant administration of drugs that increase the activity of cytochrome P-450 enzymes (eg dexamethasone, phenobarbital).

SIDE EFFECTS
In very rare cases, mild and transient gastrointestinal disturbances (e.g. vomiting) may occur.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
Teratogenic effects attributed to high doses of febantel have been reported in sheep and rats. No studies have been performed in dogs in early pregnancy. The use of the product during pregnancy is subject to an assessment of the risk / benefit ratio. The use is not recommended during the first 4 weeks of pregnancy. In pregnant bitches, do not exceed the established dosage. The tablets can be used during breastfeeding.
