Folic acid intervenes in the process of cell division: being involved as a cofactor in the formation of DNA, it comes into play every time a cell divides. This function is of particular interest at the level of rapidly regenerating tissues. Folate contributes to the normal synthesis of amino acids and to the growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy : this allows a correct development of the fetus. In particular, the supplementary intake of folic acid increases the state of maternal folate. Low maternal folate status is a risk factor for developing fetal neural tube defects. Folate contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue , also supporting a physiological formation and maturation of blood cells . Folic acid also acts as a support for a normal function of the immune system and for a normal homocysteine metabolism . Homocysteine is a substance physiologically present in the body but whose accumulation can cause various problems.

Many studies report that conditions of high blood homocysteine concentration are to be considered as a possible cardiovascular risk factor.

Nutritional information (for 1 tablet):

Bulking agents: dibasic calcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose. Anti-caking agents: Vegetable stearic acid, Silicon dioxide. Thickener: Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose. Folate (pteroyl (mono) glutamic acid).

Swallow 1 tablet a day, with water, preferably with a meal. Packaged in bottles of 100 tablets.
