PROJOINT COMPLEX Food supplement useful as a support for joint well-being.
Contains MSM, or organic sulfur, to counteract inflammatory situations in the joints, glucosamine, collagen and chondroitin, precursors of the connective tissue that forms cartilage, hyaluronic acid to restore elasticity and plasticity to joint movement.
This formulation makes use of several patents and can also be used by those who are allergic to shellfish.
Glucosamine HCl
It is a salt of glucosamine, and is a component of mucopolysaccharides and glycoproteins that make up cell membranes and interstitial tissues. Glucosamine promotes the physiological production of connective tissue and the formation of nails, skin, synovial fluid, tendons, ligaments and bones. In particular, glucosamine has been found to be useful in the production of proteoglycans and glucosaminoglycans and is used in case of increased tissue metabolism or alterations in cartilage metabolism.
MSM or methylsulfonylmethane
It is a natural source of sulfur present in numerous foods of animal and vegetable origin, but being sensitive to heat it is easily destroyed by cooking and food preparation. Sulfur is necessary to promote the formation of connective tissue and represents one of the constituent elements of keratin present in hair, skin and nails, in particular it promotes the growth of nails and hair and supports the maintenance and physiological restoration of natural integrity and beauty of skin tissues in case of skin problems. The integration of MSM is also a useful support for normal joint functions, for example in athletes, as the sulfur promotes the stabilization of the connective tissue matrix of cartilage, tendons and ligaments.
Chondroitin sulfate
It is one of the main polysaccharides present in the constituent elements of cartilage and together with glucosamine sulphate it forms the substrate for the formation of the healthy joint matrix. Oral administration of chondroitin sulfate is of benefit in case of joint problems. Chondroitin sulphate has in fact demonstrated a physiological anti-inflammatory action as it inhibits the enzymes that cause the degeneration of elastin and collagen (elastase and collagenase), fundamental constituents of cartilage.

Hyaluronic acid
Chemically it is defined as a glycosaminglycan consisting of the aggregation of thousands of disaccharide units formed by residues of glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. Main component of the extracellular matrix is present in particular in the joint synovial fluid, in the skin and in the vitreous humor of the eye. Its ability to complex with water gives rise to protective gels, useful for maintaining hydration and elasticity of the skin and for supporting joint function.
Type II hydrolyzed collagen
Collagen is the main connective tissue protein in animals and accounts for 6% of body weight. It is organized in a rigid and resistant structure that constitutes the scaffolding of the connective tissue, with the function of support and mechanical resistance at the level of the dermis and joints. There are numerous types of collagen, 28 different types have been described in the literature, and type II is concentrated in the cartilages, intervertebral discs and vitreous humor.
