SOFARGEN GEL

Aqueous topical dressing containing Silver Sulfadiazine. The GEL with a high water content (over 95%), keeps the lesion hydrated by promoting the tissue repair process, creates a barrier to external agents protecting the damaged skin thanks to the presence of silver. It also promotes debridement in necrotic lesions.
The presence of Silver Sulfadiazine, a metallorganic compound obtained by reacting silver nitrate with Sulfadiazine, prevents microbial contamination of the dressing and keeps the wound environment free from other exogenous bacteria. The particular formulation creates an environment that facilitates the natural healing process and provides an effective barrier to microbial penetration. The product remains easily "in situ" and is not affected by the stretching of the wound edges. It can be easily removed by cleaning the lesion with saline.

How to use
After proper cleansing of the lesion, apply a uniform layer of gel 2 or 3 mm thick on the affected surfaces. The gel can be applied either directly on the lesions, or previously spread on a sterile gauze to obtain the moisturizing effect or on a polyurethane or semi-occlusive dressing as a cleanser. SOFARGEN GEL is also a valid substitute for the more commonly used hydrogels.
The application of the gel should continue without interruption once or twice a day, as long as there is the possibility of infection and until complete healing, both in spontaneous and surgical repairs. At each renewal of the application, thoroughly cleanse the lesions with water or physiological solution.
