Prolid Ofta EYE SPRAY

Indications
Supplement of the lipid component of the eyelid and of the eyelid rim even during inflammatory processes: redness, itching and burning of the eyelids including those of an iatrogenic nature secondary to the use of hypotonic eye drops containing carbonic anhydrase inhibitors. It is also useful for its soothing, emollient and cleansing capacity, in the prevention and reduction of eyelid browning and ciliary elongation including those induced by eye drops based on prostaglandin analogues.

Dosage and method of use
Apply 1-2 sprays of PROLID OFTA® Spray on the eye keeping the eyelids closed.
It is recommended to apply PROLID OFTA® Spray 3-4 times a day.
In case of severe complaints, PROLID OFTA® Spray can be applied even more frequently.
Spray the product on the closed eye from a distance of about 10 cm.
It can also be used in the presence of cosmetics: in this case, apply only one spray from a greater distance (about 20 cm).
When using for the first time, make empty deliveries. Do not use the first spray.

PROLID OFTA® Eye Spray helps to restore the lipid component present on the eyelid rim in the case of functional or tissue dressings. It has a protective activity and assists the reparative processes of the eyelid tissue. The action of PROLID OFTA® is manifested by maintaining the functionality of the eyelid rim and by improving the elasticity of the eyelid tissue. Liposomes are small vesicles with a diameter between 20 and 500 millionths of a millimeter (50-500 nm). They consist of a double layer of phospholipids containing an aqueous core that can incorporate hydrophilic active ingredients, while the phospholipid bilayer can incorporate lipophilic active ingredients. This last property allows to solubilize or better to make available to the tissues, active principles which, due to their lipophilic characteristic, cannot normally be administered in an aqueous phase. Vitamins A and E for their soothing and emollient properties contribute to maintaining the optimal state of the eyelid and periocular tissue and, in synergy with the liposomes, provide functional support to the lipid component present on the eyelid rim. Vitamin E is also a powerful antioxidant essential to counteract the formation of free radicals, toxic substances for all tissues of the body, and prevents the degradation of Vitamin A. The combined use of liposomes containing Vitamin A and Vitamin E also facilitates the 'protective and reparative effect that is useful in all cases of redness, swelling and eyelid itching.

Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity to product components or other closely related substances from a chemical point of view.

Warnings
Shake before each delivery.
Do not touch the ocular surface with the nebulizer.
Accidental use with open eyes can cause temporary burning, which however disappears quickly without consequences.
Do not use PROLID OFTA® Spray concomitantly with topical ophthalmic drugs.
If other ophthalmic medications are administered in addition to PROLID OFTA® Spray, allow an interval of 10 minutes between the two applications.
Before use, check that the sprayer is properly closed and undamaged.
Close the bottle tightly after use.
Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the bottle.
The product is for external ophthalmic use only.
Keep the preparation out of the reach and sight of children.
