COMPOSITION
100 g of ointment contain: Active ingredient: Saccharomyces cerevisiae cell extract 1.08 g. Excipients: shark liver oil, white petroleum jelly, anhydrous lanolin, wool wax, light mineral oil, red thyme oil NF (40-45% phenols), glycerol, methyl-p-hydroxybenzoate, propyl-p-hydroxybenzoate.
HOW IT LOOKS
Preparation H comes in the form of an ointment for topical use, contained in a tube of 25 or 50 g.

WHY IT IS USED
Preparation H is used in the treatment of uncomplicated internal and external hemorrhoids and anal fissures.
WHEN IT SHOULD NOT BE USED
In case of hypersensitivity to the components. What to do during pregnancy and breastfeeding Preparation H can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT
The use, especially if prolonged of products for topical use, can give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and institute a suitable therapy, after consulting the doctor. In case of bleeding or persistence of the disorder, consult your doctor.
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINAL PRODUCT
Apply the ointment up to 2-3 times a day, whenever possible after each bowel movement. The package contains an applicator with a protective cap. For rectal use remove the cap, lubricate the applicator and screw it to the tube. Squeeze until the applicator is full. Insert into the rectum, squeeze the tube again until a sufficient quantity of product is introduced. Apply the ointment also on the external area. After use, clean the applicator and cover it with the cap. Do not exceed the prescribed dose unless recommended by your physician. Use only for short periods of treatment. Consult your doctor if the disorder occurs repeatedly or if you have noticed any recent changes in its characteristics.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE TAKEN AN EXCESSIVE DOSE OF MEDICINAL PRODUCT
No overdose phenomena have been reported with the use of Preparation H ointment.
SIDE EFFECTS
Preparation H ointment usually has no side effects. Compliance with the instructions contained in the package leaflet reduces the risk of undesirable effects. It is important to inform your doctor or pharmacist of any undesirable effects not described in the package leaflet. Request and fill in the undesirable effects report form available at the pharmacy (Form B).
