INDICATIONS
Treatment of parasitic infestations of dogs and cats, of small and medium size, sustained by nematodes (round worms) and cestodes (flat worms). Cats: Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina, Ancylostoma tubaeformae, Ancylostoma braziliense, Strongyloides spp., Taenia spp., Dipylidium caninum, Mesocestoides spp., Echinococcus spp. Trichuris vulpis, Taenia ovis, Taeniapisiformis, Taenia hydatigena, Taenia multiceps, Dipylidium caninum, Mesocestoides spp, Echinococcus spp.

CONTRAINDICATIONS / SECONDARY EFFECT

USE / ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral.

DOSAGE
One tablet / 8 kg body weight / day, for two consecutive days (equal to 30 mg of mebendazole / kg body weight / day and 2.5 mg of praziquantel / kg body weight / day). The tablet is easily divisible into four parts, each one usable to treat 2 kg live weight. Always round the weight of the animal to the next whole number. The chewable tablets are palatable to animals and are taken spontaneously with rare exceptions; in these cases they can be crumbled and incorporated into a small amount of food or mixed with croquettes. During the treatment the animal does not lose vivacity or appetite.

STORAGE
Do not store above 25 degrees C. Store in the original container and keep the bottle tightly closed.

WARNINGS
In order to obtain effective parasite control, the treatment should be carried out on the basis of the results of the parasitological examination on the faeces. It is not necessary to administer purgatives or to make the animal observe fasting during the treatment; it is a good idea to give the animals lighter meals than usual during deworming. It is preferable to administer the drug on an empty stomach and at the same time as little food. With the administration of the drug, according to the modalities indicated, the total disappearance of the adult parasites is obtained; to eliminate the larval forms of hookworms and ascarids it is necessary to repeat the complete treatment after 60 days for roundworm infestations and after 18 days for those with hookworms, from the end of the first treatment. The elimination of parasites begins from the first administration; the complete disappearance of the eggs usually occurs within 10-15 days after the last administration. Therefore the examination of the stool for control must be carried out after the aforementioned period of time has elapsed. During the treatment and also afterwards it is necessary to carry out, especially in kennels or farms, the appropriate disinfestation operations of the premises in order to avoid re-infestations. Furthermore, it is advisable to carry out the chemical denaturation of the feces expelled by the treated subjects, in order to interrupt the continuation of the parasitic cycle. Special precautions for the person administering the product: in case of accidental contact, wash your hands thoroughly. People with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients contained in this medicine should administer the product with caution. Overdose: the administration of excessive doses does not cause any symptoms, except vomiting, which appears for mebendazole over 500 mg / kg bodyweight in dogs and 300 mg / kg bodyweight in cats; for praziquantel at 200 mg / kg bodyweight in dogs.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
Although mebendazole did not show teratogenic or embryotoxic effects typical of other benzimidazoles, its use is not recommended during the first fifteen days of pregnancy.
