How does Nexcare Coldhot Comfort gel pad work?

The Nexcare Coldhot Comfort gel pad works thanks to hot / cold therapy:

• Cold relieves inflammation, thanks to its vasoconstrictive properties, and gives relief in case of sprains, muscle and ligament tears, headaches and migraines, burns, toothache, nosebleeds and insect bites;
• The heat promotes muscle relaxation and stimulates blood circulation, helping to relieve the painful symptoms associated with arthritis and muscle contractures, lumbago and back pain, muscle-tension headaches, cramps, menstrual pain, rheumatism.

How to use

Cold application :

Store the pad (unlined) in the refrigerator or freezer so that it is ready to use when needed. Otherwise, cool for at least 2 hours. Wrap the pillow in the cover or in a cloth. Apply the cold pad to the area to be treated. Discontinue use in case of discomfort. Apply for no more than 20 minutes in a row.

Hot application :

Microwave: Place pillow horizontally in microwave oven set to 640W and heat 2 times for 30 seconds. Be careful when removing the pad from the microwave, handle it to evenly distribute the heat after each heating interval. Wrap the pillow in the appropriate cover or in a cloth and apply to the area to be treated.

Hot Water: Bring enough water to a boil to cover the bearing. Remove the water from the flame and soak the pad for 4 to 5 minutes. Be careful in removing the pad from the water, handle it to evenly distribute the heat. Wrap the pillow in the appropriate cover or in a cloth and apply to the area to be treated.

Warnings and Contraindications

Cold therapy is recommended in the 48 hours following the injury.
Hot therapy should not be used before 48 hours have passed since the injury.
Be careful when removing pillows from boiling water or microwave with bare hands.
If the pillow is too hot, allow it to cool before applying it to the body.
Pillows can be damaged by overheating
Do not heat in conventional ovens or with the grill.
If you do not know the microwave power, use the lowest (defrost) and heat the pad at intervals of 30 seconds.
