INDICATIONS
It is indicated in the therapy and prophylaxis of parasitic intestinal nematodes in dogs. In particular it is effective against: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Ancylostoma spp, Uncinaria stenocephala.

USE / ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Oral.

DOSAGE
14.5 mg of pyrantel pamoate equal to 5 mg of pyrantel base per kg body weight. Pasta 10 g and 24 g: 2 cm of pasta (equal to 14.5 mg of pyrantelpamoate) / kg body weight. The content of a 10 g tube is sufficient for the treatment of dogs weighing up to 15 kg; the contents of a 24 g tube and sufficient for the treatment of dogs weighing up to 36 kg. Syringe 16 g: one graduation of the syringe for every 2 kg body weight. The content of a 16 g syringe is sufficient for the treatment of dogs weighing up to 24 kg. Administer at once without fasting the dog and without enforcing a particular diet now. The palatability of the product allows spreading the preparation on the animal's teeth with a finger or with a spatula for laryngological use. In the case of unsociable or restless animals, the drug can be administered mixed with food. PROPHYLAXIS. Prophylaxis is carried out to keep the dog free from worms and to avoid the risk of infestation for humans (especially for the child) by dogs affected by worms. Furthermore, the prophylactic treatment with the drug allows the dog: to be more resistant to other diseases; you bear more fatigue with the consequent possibility of better performances; have a more alert sensory, are of a better general appearance, in particular have more shiny hair. Puppies: a treatment at the age of 10-14 days, to be repeated between the fourth and eighth week of age. It should be remembered in particular the primary importance of pre-vaccination treatment as the presence of parasites is able to interfere with the establishment of a solid vaccine immunity. Females: one treatment 15 days before mating; a second treatment one week before delivery; a third treatment 4 weeks after delivery. This series of interventions tends to avoid the infestation of puppies during pregnancy and subsequently, after delivery, through the colostrum and the milk sucked by the mother during the first days of life. Competition dogs: a treatment 15-20 days before the competition. Hunting dogs: treatment 15-20 days before the hunting season. All the altricani: a treatment in early spring, to be repeated in early autumn. Therapy of roundworm and hookworm infestations: the treatment must be carried out immediately whenever the presence of parasites is ascertained and repeated after 2-3 weeks.

WARNINGS
In case of dosage difficulties, for example when it is impossible to weigh the dog, the dose of product to be administered must be rounded up. The preparation, in fact, below the indicated dosage does not fully express all its therapeutic efficacy; on the contrary, high doses do not present contraindications. The drug has a wide safety margin and can be safely administered to subjects of all ages, in any physiological state and in any state and severity of the disease. The drug allows, due to its spectrum of anthelmintic efficacy, to intervene in the dog not only for the therapy of parasites but also for their prophylaxis. It should be added that prophylaxis also allows man, who lives with the dog, to avoid risks of any kind. Ascariasis and hookworms fall within this context, causing enteritis, weight loss, dermatitis, nervous phenomena, etc. in the dog. The man, on the other hand, and in particular the child, who comes into contact with the roundworm larvae present in the dog's living environment can contract the typical infestation of accidental hosts. The larvae of the parasite, once ingested by man, do not evolve into an adult parasite but are sometimes localized in aberrant districts with the formation of granulomas. Particularly serious is the granuloma of the retina and adjacent tissues which can lead to blindness in the affected eye. Overdose: it can be administered in doses 40 times higher than the therapeutic one and for several days without presenting symptoms of intolerance (vomiting, loss of weight).
