NS1/SERENIS, thanks to the plant active ingredients present (including passion flower, hawthorn, lemon balm and rhodiola) can be used to combat anxious syndromes related to hyperemotivity, hormonal imbalances (for example the early stages of menopause), stress, psychological factors . It can be used as a hypnogenic adjuvant, especially if insomnia derives from hyperemotivity (for example when the person manages to fall asleep, but wakes up during the night and can no longer fall asleep)

Hawthorn: has a relaxing, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic action: it improves the efficiency of the cardiovascular system by favoring the reduction of the resistance to the circulation given by the venous tone and stimulating the contractility of the myocardial muscles; overall this relieves the sense of anguish and oppression that often accompanies the anxious state.
Lemon balm: lemon balm is considered a rebalancing of the nervous system with tonic and relaxing properties. The neurosedative and spasmolytic mechanism of action could in part be attributed to the antithyroid activity especially anti-thyrotropin (TSH). The essence of lemon balm acts at the level of the limbic lobe of the CNS, which is responsible for the coordination of the vegetative functions as well as the protective action from abnormal stimuli coming from the periphery, guaranteeing a sedative activity useful in neurovegetative dystonias.
Rhodiola: Rhodiola roots have an adaptogenic, anti-stress action, generally promoting learning and memory skills, well known from Siberian folk medicine. These properties have been scientifically proven and can be traced back to the presence of phenylpropanoid glycosides, in particular salidroside and rosavin. Rhodiola produces an increase in the plasma concentration of beta-endorphins capable of preventing the hormonal changes indicative of stress. In addition, rhodiola is able to increase by about 30% the levels of serotonin in the central nervous system, a hormone capable of performing a sedative-anti-anxiety and mood toning action.
Passiflora: has a calming and relaxing action on the CNS; probably due to the presence of flavonoids with serotonergic action; however, the traditional use of the plant demonstrates its sedative activity, particularly on the anxious and emotional sphere. It has recently been demonstrated that these active ingredients are able to bind to the benzodiazepine receptors located in the brain, thus explaining the calming action of this plant, which makes it one of the most widely used phytotherapeutics in nervous disorders.
