PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC CATEGORY

ACTIVE PRINCIPLES
100 ml of cutaneous solution contain: minoxidil 2 g.

EXCIPIENTS
Propylene glycol, alcohol, purified water.

INDICATIONS
Symptomatic treatment of androgenic alopecia. The efficacy in the following forms has not been determined: congenital localized or generalized alopecia; cicatricial alopecia of various kinds (post-traumatic, psychic or infectious origin); acute alopecia diffused by toxic substances, by medicaments in which hair regrowth is conditioned by the suppression of the specific cause; area celsi. Furthermore, the tolerability and efficacy in subjects younger than 18 years and in patients older than 55 years have not been determined.

CONTRAINDICATIONS / SECONDARY EFFECT
Hypersensitivity 'to the active substance or to any of the excipients. The medicine should not be used in the presence of coronary heart disease, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure or valvulopathies. In the presence of other cardiovascular disorders, including hypertension, the use of the product is subject to the judgment of the doctor. Do not use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

DOSAGE
For external use only. Use only in accordance with the instructions. A 1ml dose should be applied twice daily to the scalp, starting from the center of the affected area. The dose is independent of the size of the area to be treated. The total daily dose should not exceed 2 ml. After applying the product, wash your hands carefully. Apply only to completely dry hair and scalp.Do not apply to other areas of the body. Clinical experience indicates that bi-daily applications lasting 3-4 months may be necessary before there are evident signs of hair growth. The onset of these signs and their intensity vary from patient to patient. In all cases the doctor will have to evaluate the opportunity to suspend the treatment if no therapeutic result is observed within this period. The relapse to the pre-treatment state following discontinuation of therapy occurs within 3-4 months. Unscrew the cap and insert the dropper. After filling it to the 1ml mark, apply a few drops of the medicine to the scalp and distribute the liquid with your fingertips over the entire bald area. Repeat until the full 1ml dose has been applied. After use, screw the dropper firmly onto the bottle. Useful tips: apply twice a day, preferably in the morning and in the evening. Distribute the specialty over the entire affected area. In case of hair washing, this should only be done before applying the medicine. Before applying the product, make sure that the scalp is perfectly dry. During treatment with the medicine it is not necessary to change your hygiene habits regarding the scalp. However, it is advisable to use a mild shampoo. If the application is inadvertently interrupted for 1 or 2 days, resume treatment following the dosage schedule provided in the package leaflet (1 ml twice a day).

STORAGE
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.

WARNINGS
Before starting the treatment, the user must check that the scalp is intact and in good health. Stop treatment and consult a doctor if you experience: chest pain, tachycardia, weakness or dizziness, sudden and unexplained weight gain or swelling in the hands and / or feet, or in the case of persistent redness or irritation of the scalp. Although the vast experience on the use of topical minoxidil has not shown an absorption of the drug such as to produce systemic effects, incorrect use or individual variability or particular sensitivity, could cause increased absorption with potential systemic effects. Contains alcohol which causes burning and irritation. Therefore, in case of accidental contact with sensitive surfaces (eyes, abraded skin, mucous membranes), wash the area with plenty of fresh water. The use, especially if prolonged, of products for topical use, can give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, stop treatment and consult your doctor to institute adequate therapy.

INTERACTIONS
There are currently no known interactions associated with the use. The extent of absorption of topical minoxidil is controlled and limited by the stratum corneum. Topical medications, such as tretinoin and antranil, which alter the corneal barrier, may cause increased absorption of minoxidil when applied concurrently.

SIDE EFFECTS
The most frequent side effects that occurred during clinical studies were minor dermatological reactions. The most frequent side effect was local irritation, consisting of peeling, erythema, dermatitis, itching, dry skin, hypertrichosis (in areas other than those treated with the product), burning sensation and rash. Other side effects, which occur infrequently, include: allergic reactions (sensitization, hives, generalized erythema and facial edema), dizziness, tingling, headaches, weakness, neuritis, edema, eczema, eye irritation, taste disturbance, ear infections ( especially otitis externa) and visual disturbances. Rarely occurring side effects include hair abnormalities, exacerbation of hair loss, alopecia, chest pain, blood pressure changes, heart rate changes, hepatitis, kidney stones and sexual dysfunction. Report any suspected adverse reactions via the national reporting system.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
Effects in pregnancy are not known. Systemically administered minoxidil is excreted in human milk. The medicine should not be used in pregnant or lactating women.
