How to use

• Collect a saliva sample through the buccal swab included in the package. Let it air dry for about 5 minutes and then put it back in its plastic case.
• Send it by post to the analysis laboratory, together with the privacy consent document with the appropriate pre-stamped envelopes.
• From the biological sample, treated anonymously, a team of geneticists extracts the DNA on which the analysis of the "lactase gene", involved in lactose intolerance, is carried out.
• Within 15 days, a personal report with the genetic result on lactose intolerance and the interpretation of the geneticist is sent to your home or to the doctor's office.

In case of a non-optimal form of the lactase gene, the genetic report provides behavioral and dietary advice, indications on the use of Lactease, a lactase food supplement.

In the case of the optimal form of the lactase gene, it is however possible that a temporary malabsorption of lactose occurs, due to a secondary intolerance following infectious enteritis, celiac disease or inflammatory bowel disease. In this case, the genetic report includes indications on the management of any secondary lactose deficiency and on the use of Lactease, a lactase dietary supplement.
