Therapeutic indications

Skin cream and solution: Skin mycoses caused by dermatophytes, yeasts and molds, also accompanied by infections caused by gram positive bacteria. Ovules - Vaginal cream: Vulvovaginal mycoses (trichophiton mentagrophytes, epidermophyton, malassetia furfur, candida albicans, nocardia minute).

Dosage

Cream and skin solution: one application morning and evening to the infected skin areas with a light massage. Vaginal cream: one applicator filled with cream every night for two weeks. Vaginal pessaries: one pessary in the evening for two weeks. In the case of intertriginous spaces in a wet state (interdigital spaces of the foot, folds of the buttocks) it is advisable to cleanse with gauze or bandages before applying ECOMESOL.

Overdose

Given the pharmaceutical forms available, intended for topical or vaginal application, cases of acute overdose by ingestion are extremely unlikely and so far never reported. In case of accidental ingestion, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may occur and should be treated with symptomatic therapy.

Contraindications

Known individual hypersensitivity to the drug.

Side effects

ECOMESOL is well tolerated at the indicated therapeutic doses, however in particularly sensitive individuals it can cause skin redness, burning and, in some cases, increase itching. Furthermore, the use of the product, especially if prolonged, can give rise to sensitization phenomena. In case of hypersensitivity reactions it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and institute a suitable therapy; a similar behavior must be carried out in the event of the development of non-sensitive microorganisms.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

In women who are pregnant or presumed to be pregnant, ECOMESOL must be administered in case of real need under the direct supervision of the doctor.
