Indications
Dicopeg is a laxative action product which, through an osmotic action, regulates intestinal functions. It is neither absorbed nor fermented in the intestine, it does not irritate the mucosa and is eliminated in the faeces in an unmodified form. Dicopeg is indicated in chronic constipation and in cases of occasionally irregular bowel. In fact, thanks to its affinity for water, Dicopeg softens the stool, facilitating the evacuation. Its action does not reduce over time.
Recommended doses
From 6 months to 2 years (up to 12 kg): 1-2 sachets per day.
From 2 to 11 years (from 12 kg to 20 kg): 2-4 sachets per day.
Over 11 years (or> 20 kg): 2-6 sachets per day.
It is possible to divide the daily dose into several administrations. The dose can be increased or decreased depending on the individual response to treatment. In any case, it is advisable to consult a doctor. Use the product in pediatric children only after medical advice. The maximum dose needed does not normally exceed 6 sachets per day.
Instructions for Use
Dissolve the contents of 1 sachet in 1/2 glass of water (62.5 ml). Drink the reconstituted solution. It is possible to divide the daily dose into several administrations. The daily number of sachets to be taken can be reconstituted in advance in the appropriate volume of water and the solution stored in the refrigerator covered for up to 24 hours. It is recommended to take Dicopeg between meals. Contraindications Do not take Dicopeg in case of known hypersensitivity to macrogol, gastrointestinal perforation and / or obstruction, known gastric or intestinal lesions, severe inflammatory diseases of the intestinal tract such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolon.
Interactions
There are no known interactions with drugs but it is advisable that the intake of the product is separated by at least 2 hours from that of drugs administered orally since the osmotic power of the macrogol and the increase in the gastrointestinal transit rate induced can negatively affect their action. In any case, consult your doctor before taking Dicopeg in case of other therapies in progress.
