PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC CATEGORY

ACTIVE PRINCIPLES
Benzoyl peroxide 25 mg / ml equal to benzoyl peroxide hydrate 33.3 mg / ml.

EXCIPIENTS
Disodium edetate (E386) 0.5 mg / ml; purified water to taste at 1 ml.

INDICATIONS
It is indicated: for the topical treatment of dermatosis with bacterial component and / or altered sebaceous secretion (superficial and deep pyoderma, pyoderma of the folds (intertrigo), cellulite, folliculitis, seborrhea, furunculosis, acne, Schnauzer blackhead syndrome); as an adjuvant in the course of treatment of: demodicosis, pyodemodicosis, pododemodicosis and Malassezia pachydermatis dermatitis; as a skin antiseptic treatment for periodic use. In case of deep and extensive skin infections it may be necessary to associate a systemic antibiotic therapy.

CONTRAINDICATIONS / SECONDARY EFFECT
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

USE / ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION
Topical.

DOSAGE
According to the size of the dog, it is suggested to use approximately for the entire body surface: 10-20 ml of product for a small dog; 20-40 ml of product for a medium-sized dog; 40-80 ml of product for a large or very large dog. Methods. Shake for at least 30 seconds before use. Use the product in two successive applications. Wet the pet's coat with warm water. Proceeding for small areas, distribute about half a coffee spoon (2-3 ml) of product in each area until it affects the entire surface of the body, then massage to obtain a light foam. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Proceed with a second application, massaging carefully to favor contact of the product with the animal's skin. Leave on for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and dry the animal well. In more complex cases, daily or alternate day applications are required; in milder cases and after the first improvements, the frequency can be reduced to one application per week; for maintenance antiseptic treatment it is recommended to use the product once or twice a month.

STORAGE
Store below 25 degrees C. Shelf life after first opening the container: 6 months.

WARNINGS
Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes of the animal. Benzoyl peroxide could discolour the animal's fur. Avoid the concomitant use of alcoholic solutions or irritants or soaps that can increase the dryness of the skin and do not expose to UV radiation, to avoid skin irritation phenomena. Special precautions to be taken when administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals: use gloves during application; protect clothing as benzoyl peroxide can discolour the fabrics it comes into contact with. In case of accidental contact with eyes and skin, wash with plenty of water. People with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient must avoid contact with the product. Overdose: studies carried out with the drug have shown good tolerability in the dog at doses and times of application that are double and quadruple those of the therapeutic ones.

SIDE EFFECTS
In particularly sensitive subjects, benzoyl peroxide can cause skin irritation. In such cases, reduce the frequency and duration of applications until eventually stopping the treatment.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
The safety of the drug during pregnancy and lactation has not been established, therefore its use is not recommended.
