Marigold has an antioxidant action and promotes the well-being of sight.
Zinc and Vitamin A contribute to the maintenance of normal vision, while Zinc contributes to normal cognitive function. Selenium and Zinc contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Lutein and Zaxanthin: they are the only two, among the more than 600 carotenoids present in nature, which are selectively accumulated by the human retina, in particular in the central area called macula. A research carried out at the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands) has shown that the supplements of these substances deriving from the plant species Tagetesa increase the macular pigment. Divesi studies have shown that the increase in macular pigmentation can be useful for counteracting ocular damage such as AMO-Age-related Macular Degeneration. The most accredited hypothesis on the mechanism of action of these carotenoids indicates a double action: directly as antioxidant agents, indirectly by absorbing the blue spectrum of light (the latter being strongly photo-oxidative).
- Polyphenols: they are natural antioxidants present in various plant species; they make up a family of about 5000 organic molecules. Vine seeds are one of the most studied sources of polyphenols. The antioxidant power of these molecules exceeds that of Vitamin C up to 30 times. The results of a study conducted on subjects who complained of visual stress from video terminals, treated with polyphenols reported significant improvements in the contrast sensitivity curve and subjective symptoms. Another important fact that emerged from this study is the good tolerability of polyphenols.
- Vitamin E: thanks to its chemical nature, it has the role of a lipid antioxidant that performs both by capturing the reactive oxygen species and by interrupting the lipid peroxidation processes already underway. It is a substance that actively participates in maintaining the integrity of cell membranes in general, and in correct retinal function in particular.
- Zinc or Selenium: these are trace elements having an integral role in maintaining normal eye function. They protect the retina from the aggressions of oxidizing agents, as they help to ensure the efficiency of essential enzymatic complexes in the defense against oxidative stress.

How to use
It is recommended to take 1 capsule a day with a glass of still water.
