NAME
LACRISOL 0.0045% + 0.5% EYE DROPS, SOLUTION

PHARMACOTHERAPEUTIC CATEGORY

ACTIVE PRINCIPLES
100 ml contain: benzalkonium chloride 0.0045 g; hypromellose 0.5 g.

EXCIPIENTS
Boric acid, sodium tetraborate, sodium chloride, purified water.

INDICATIONS
Disinfection of the ocular mucosa. Lubricant and humectant of the eye with lacrimal insufficiency. (Dry eye syndrome).

CONTRAINDICATIONS / SECONDARY EFFECT
Hypersensitivity 'to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients. Do not use in children under the age of 12 unless otherwise directed by your doctor.

DOSAGE
Eye drops Instill one or two drops into the conjunctival fornix two to four times a day. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Do not use for prolonged treatments unless otherwise prescribed.

STORAGE
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions

WARNINGS
The use, especially if prolonged, of medicines for ophthalmic use can give rise to sensitization phenomena; in this case the treatment must be interrupted and the doctor must be consulted to institute suitable therapy. Do not use for prolonged treatments; after a short period of treatment without results consult your doctor. Due to the presence of sodium borate, the product if accidentally inhaled or ingested or if used for a long time in excessive doses can cause toxic phenomena. It is to be avoided the application in case of inflammations, wounds or corneal abrasions. The medicine contains benzalkonium chloride which may cause eye irritation. Avoid contact with contact lenses. Remove contact lenses before applying and wait at least 15 minutes before reapplying. The bleaching action against contact lenses is known.

INTERACTIONS
Avoid simultaneous use of other antiseptics and ophthalmic solutions.

SIDE EFFECTS
In some cases, intolerance (burning or irritation) may occur, however without consequences, which does not involve modification of the treatment. Report any suspected adverse reactions via the national reporting system.

PREGNANCY AND BREASTFEEDING
There are no known contraindications.
