Bayer Canesten Unidie 1% Antifungal Cream Tube 30g

Treatment of dermatomycoses caused by dermatophytes (eg. Ringworms), saccharomyces (eg Candida), other pathogenic fungi (eg Malassezia furfur) and in some types of dermatosis.

1. Therapeutic indications
Canesten Unidie Crema is used in dermatomycoses caused by dermatophytes (eg. Ringworms), by saccharomyces (eg Candida), by other pathogenic fungi (eg Malassezia furfur). Superinfection dermatosis sustained by the aforementioned pathogenic fungi and by germs sensitive to bifonazole.

These conditions include: plantar and interdigital mycosis of the hand and foot (athlete's foot); onychomycosis, trunk and mycosis
skin folds, pityriasis versicolor.

2. Dosage and method of use
Canesten Unidie Cream should be taken in the following doses and methods: it should be applied in small quantities on the infected parts with a light massage only once a day, preferably in the evening before going to bed.

Canesten Unidie cream is electively indicated for the treatment of uncovered skin areas. For a complete recovery, the controlled and sufficiently prolonged use of Canesten Unidie is essential. However, it is advisable not to interrupt therapy immediately after the disappearance of the acute inflammatory manifestations and subjective symptoms, but to adhere to the following average treatment times, depending on the type of infection, the extent and location of the infection itself:

Tinea pedis: 3 weeks
Tinea corporis, tinea manuum, tinea cruris: 2- (3) weeks
Pityriasis versicolor: 2 weeks
Superficial skin candidiasis: 2- (4) weeks
The treatment times indicated in brackets refer to forms, in the opinion of the doctor, particularly extensive or resistant. Children: in pediatric age, the safety and efficacy of the drug has not been demonstrated; until sufficient data are acquired, the use of the product in such subjects is not indicated.

3. Contraindications
Hypersensitivity 'to the active substance or to any of the excipients.

4. Pregnancy and breastfeeding
> Pregnancy
In pregnant women and in very early childhood, the product should be used only in case of real need and under the direct supervision of the doctor.

> Breastfeeding
It is not known whether bifonazole is excreted in human milk. Therefore, bifonazole should be used during breastfeeding after a benefit / risk assessment by the physician. During breastfeeding, bifonazole should not be applied to the breast area.

5. Expiration and retention
Check the expiration date indicated on the package. The expiry date indicated on the package refers to the product in intact packaging, correctly stored. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not use Canesten 1% cream 3 months after first opening.

Warning: do not use the medicine after the expiry date indicated on the package.

6. Warnings
The use, especially if prolonged, of products for topical use, can give rise to sensitization phenomena that manifest themselves with redness and itching; in this case, it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and institute a suitable therapy. The same will be done in case of development of resistant microorganisms. Patients with known hypersensitivity reactions to other imidazole antifungals (e.g. econazole, clotrimazole, miconazole) should use medicinal products containing bifonazole with caution.

7. Composition
Canesten Unidie Cream contains:
Active ingredient: bifonazole g 1
Excipients: sorbitan monostearate, polysorbate 60, spermaceti, cetylstearyl alcohol, octyldodecanol, benzyl alcohol, purified water.

Canesten Unidie Cream 1% 30g
