The Accu-Chek Softclix lancets are a product proposed by the company Roche Diagnostics to make it easier to take capillary blood by minimizing the sensation of pain when puncturing with the lancing device.

Indications

They are used to collect the amount of blood needed for the blood glucose monitoring test. They can be used for the personal use of the individual diabetic patient and in combination with the Accu-Check Softclix lancing device. Each hand has a modern design with excellent ergonomics that guarantees maximum discretion.

Features

Each lancet has a particular shape with a silicone film coating. Thanks to this feature it is possible to perform a painless puncture. The thin and sharp tip allows it to penetrate even through normal and thicker layers of skin. In addition, each needle is structured to ensure that the right and sufficient amount of blood is drawn. With the use of these lancets the epidermis does not suffer trauma or lacerations.

How is blood sugar measured?

To measure your blood glucose correctly, it is necessary to perform the test steps accurately and meticulously.

  • Insert the compatible test strip into the chosen blood glucose meter;
  • Wait for the meter to turn on;
  • Prick your fingertip with the lancing device and press sideways to release the drop of fresh capillary blood;
  • Deposit the drop on the suction area of the strip;
  • Wait for the countdown;
  • View your blood glucose values on the display.

When is blood glucose measured?

In self-monitoring of blood glucose it is necessary to know when to measure blood glucose. Diabetic experts recommend performing a blood glucose analysis test 1 to 4 times a day and at different times of the day. In particular:

  • Before the meal;
  • 2 hours after the time of the meal;
  • The evening;
  • Before getting insulin;
  • When you experience the symptoms of high blood sugar.

Why is it important to measure blood sugar on a regular basis?

Regularly measuring blood glucose values with an analysis test is necessary so that the diabetic patient can keep their pathology under control and can detect in time if there are symptoms of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) or high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) thus removing the possibility that he could go into a diabetic coma.
